March FREEBIE!

I am enjoying my snow day and thought I'd share some freebie fun! :)

March Freebie

Love is....

Valentine's Day Fun!!
Borrowed the idea from Charles Schulz to make Valentine's day books/cards for our families! Check out some of these cute cards!

I read Charles Schulz's Love is Walking Hand in Hand to the class and then we made a list together of what love is to everyone!  They love doing this and listening to the book.  They do an awesome job with these cards and were very excited to make them.  I love reading their cards before I send them home for Valentine's day.  They are easy to do and the kids love making them! I copy the Love is paper back to back, fold it, and staple it into folded construction paper! Bam! Easy made book/card for parents.

Reading Tree

I have this "Reading Tree" in my room that my uncle and I made.  I have been planning (all year) to put some fake moss type stuff on the bottom (it's totally been in my trunk for 5 months) But the bottom of the tree gets so dusty.  --We haven't had cleaning staff for three days in a row just this week. Any ideas on how to make the bottom look better?  I have another mini couch to put under in too but I wanted to make it more "tree like." I also want to be able to change the leaves for the fall  but I don't know if that's feasible!! I tried to put some lights on the tree around christmas but note to self: I need a longer strand next year!

I hope every year I can add something else that's a little strange and cool to my classroom! I would have loved this tree when I was little as well as my reading corner with my miniature leather couch and miniature reclining chair.    Anyone have any neat stuff in their rooms?  My friend when I was young had a giant (at least 6 and a half feet tall) Ticonderoga pencil and ruler.  I wish they still had it I would totally buy it off of her family! Post your cool classroom pictures/ideas here!

Valentines, and Seussicals, and FREEBIES, Oh My!

So I was just thinking....
This was my door at the start of the school year--which took forever I might add.  With Dr. Seuss's birthday coming up, I wish I was able to keep it up all year!!! How to top this Seussical door for his birthday celebration...hmmm....

I posted this Freebie a while ago too....

Some extra Valentines day math practice! More Freebies to come!

Numero 2!

I just finished and added these reading comprehension mini books to add to my store:
Reading Comprehension Mini Books

Of course we are changing our whole Guided Reading Set up and time so I can't use them during my specific guided reading group until next week (hopefully).  The first grade team at my school divides up as a grade level into guided reading groups with the help of an aide, intervention specialist and a Title 1 teacher.  Of course I can and will use these updated mini books during other groups and whole group in my class but I am excited to use them during guided reading!

The first person to leave a comment/feedback about these on my Blog will get the set for free!! :)

There's no place like home

I hope to share some funky ideas with you as well as some freebies!! I am still developing my store as well as my blogging personality! It would be great to have some friends along the way!
